Job Summary
Graduate Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health in a NM Rio Rancho retail pharmacy. You’ll apply didactic learning from pharmacy school to real-world practice under a preceptor, complete a comprehensive 120-day training roadmap, and support pharmacy operations to ensure safe, accurate prescription fulfillment and excellent patient service. Responsibilities include following SOPs, assisting with immunizations where allowed, counseling patients when appropriate, handling telephonic prescriptions with prescriber clarification where permitted, contributing to inventory and cycle counts, and collaborating with the pharmacy team to deliver compassionate care while developing clinical and technical knowledge. The role emphasizes patient safety, quality assurance, drug utilization review (DUR), and a growing scope of responsibilities as readiness increases, with travel to stores in the market as needed. Preferred qualifications include prior related work experience in pharmacy, ability to immunize once certified, working across stores, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Pay ranges from $20.25 to $42.00 per hour for a part-time schedule, with benefits described during the application process.
Required Qualifications
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines.
- Failure to obtain required Pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation will result in separation of employment.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to become immunization certified: Once state regulations are met, pharmacy interns should be striving to provide patient immunizations as this is an essential pharmacist function
- Ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
