Job Summary
Oversee personnel safety inside tanks and confined spaces by issuing VPro personal monitors and conducting periodic visual and audible checks per MDD-00209. Track employee activity and status via the VPASS (ETM) Electronic Tank Monitoring System on the INET dashboard while managing live data and log records. Receive and dispatch requests through portable radio or phone, assist with evacuations when directed, and diagnose minor system issues. Move signal boosters for optimal performance, reset RGX boxes, verify tank exhaust ventilation tags, and maintain communication centers. Enforce fire code regulations including NFPA standards and Nav-Sea sections 045. Available to work all shifts at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Available to work all shifts
- Ability to work at heights, confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions as required
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance through the Department of Defence
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher
- Experience working in industrial, shipyard, manufacturing, or construction environments
- Prior experience with confined space operations or fire watch/fire safety duties
- Completion of any fire safety, OSHA, NFPA, or similar safety-related training courses
