Job Summary
Grade 1 Special Education Teacher in Fall River Public Schools responsible for delivering instruction and support services aligned with IEP/504 plans, collaborating with Evaluation Team, Regular Education and Special Education staff, chairing Review Meetings, administering educational assessments for Annual Reviews and Re-evaluations, developing and implementing educational plans, coordinating with parents, and maintaining required records. The role emphasizes integration of students with special needs, collaboration across teams, and alignment with MA standards and curricula.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's or Master's Degree with a major emphasis on Special Education
- Appropriate Valid Massachusetts license, K-12 teaching experience
- Preference for substantial experience in regular and/or special education settings
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and closing the achievement gap
- Mastery of pedagogical and subject matter skills
- Experience in designing and implementing standards-based instruction
- Ability to manage time and resources effectively
- Knowledge of integrating information literacy, technology and 21st Century Skills into MA Curriculum Frameworks or Common Core Standards
