Job Summary
GPS Student Apprentice role focusing on hands-on assembly in a manufacturing setting. The student will use work instructions, drawings, and schematics to perform assembly, cross-train in multiple areas as needed, develop understanding of assembled products and their impact on the business, participate in team meetings, and assist peers/supervisors in problem resolution. The position emphasizes continuous learning of principles and processes, potential basic training delivery to others, and adherence to safety procedures while working in a production environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a High School student in a qualified GPS Apprenticeship program through an area High School
- Ability to perform highly repetitive assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to understand and execute basic standard assembly procedures, interpret basic visual diagrams, and use basic hand tools
- Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functions
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Ability to act safely while following established procedures, processes and policies
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
