Job Summary
GPS Student Apprentice in HVL program responsibilities include using work instructions and schematics to perform basic assembly while complying with safety and operation standards; cross-training across assembly areas; developing product understanding and its business impact; participating in team meetings; resolving simple problems with peer/supervisor support; providing basic training on work instructions as needed; and demonstrating effective communication and teamwork in a manufacturing setting. Must be a high school student enrolled in a GPS Apprenticeship program.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a High School student in a qualified GPS Apprenticeship program through an area High School
- Ability to perform highly repetitive assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment
- Detail oriented and organized
- Ability to effectively communicate in a team environment
- Ability to understand and execute basic standard assembly procedures, interpret basic visual diagrams, and use basic hand tools
- Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functions
- Ability to act safely while following established procedures, processes and policies
- Preferred: Manufacturing or mechanical experience or equivalent classes in school
- Physical ability to stand, lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, perform repetitive motions
