Job Summary
Program Manager for the Governor’s Health Awards Program (GHAP) leads the execution of a statewide scholarship and workforce development initiative aimed at strengthening New Hampshire’s rural healthcare workforce. Works with higher education institutions, healthcare employers, state agencies, and community partners to manage program implementation, operations, partner engagement, and performance milestones; ensures scholarship deployment aligns with service-obligation policies and tracks placement, persistence, and retention outcomes. Responsibilities include coordinating vendor relations for scholarship administration, developing policies and participation frameworks, aligning activities with statewide healthcare workforce education strategies, supporting advisory structures, collecting and validating scholarship utilization data, preparing reports for leadership and funders, and providing administrative support for grant-funded program activities. Required competencies include strong project management, stakeholder coordination across academic and healthcare sectors, data interpretation to drive improvements, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to travel within New Hampshire. The role is based at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH, with an annual salary range of $54,990 to $98,150 and eligibility for support from external sponsor funding.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- five years of experience in program management, workforce development, higher education administration, healthcare initiatives, or related fields
- experience coordinating multi-partner initiatives with defined performance milestones (preferred)
- valid driver’s license
- occasional in-state travel to partner institutions and rural healthcare sites may be required
