Job Summary
Conduct classroom instruction and provide hands-on training on Heavy Equipment and Material Handling Equipment operation, safety, and maintenance. Demonstrate pre-operation checks, digging, lifting, and manoeuvring while instructing on operator-level tasks like fluid checks and maintainer-level electrical troubleshooting. Administer written and practical assessments to evaluate student proficiency and offer constructive feedback. Work in field, maintenance bay, and manufacturing floor environments requiring travel, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Obtain appropriate US Military Instructor certifications and maintain a valid passport for international and domestic travel.
Required Qualifications
- An understanding of Heavy Equipment and Material Handling Equipment (HE/MHE) components, systems, and operational controls
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting common electrical and hydraulic problems
- Ability to obtain appropriate US Military Instructor certifications
- Must be customer service oriented
- Must be flexible
- Must have a high energy level
- Must have excellent follow-through skills
- Must be professional and comfortable in most social settings
- Must be able to obtain/maintain valid passport
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of practical experience instructing the operation and maintenance of Heavy Equipment (HE) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
- Experience instructing Military personnel
- Technical competence
