Job Summary
Conduct classroom instruction and hands-on training on safe operation and maintenance of Heavy Equipment and Material Handling Equipment. Demonstrate pre-operation checks, digging, lifting, and manoeuvring while instructing on operator-level and maintainer-level tasks including fluid checks, electrical troubleshooting, and diagnostic equipment use. Administer written and practical assessments to evaluate student proficiency and provide constructive feedback for skill improvement. Work in field, maintenance bay, office, and manufacturing floor environments subject to noise, temperature, and dusty conditions. Requires US Military Instructor certification and ability to travel internationally and domestically.
Required Qualifications
- An understanding of Heavy Equipment and Material Handling Equipment (HE/MHE) components, systems, and operational controls
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting common electrical and hydraulic problems
- Ability to obtain appropriate US Military Instructor certifications
- Must be customer service oriented
- Must be flexible
- Must have a high energy level
- Must have excellent follow-through skills
- Must be professional and comfortable in most social settings
- Must be able to obtain/maintain valid passport
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of practical experience instructing the operation and maintenance of Heavy Equipment (HE) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
- Experience instructing Military personnel
- Technical competence
