Job Summary
Heavy Equipment and Material Handling Equipment (HE/MHE) Instructor responsible for delivering both theoretical and practical training on safe and efficient operation and maintenance of HE/MHE equipment. Responsibilities include conducting classroom instruction on operation principles, safety regulations, and maintenance; providing hands-on training covering pre-operation checks, digging, lifting, manoeuvring, and safe shut-down; teaching operator- and maintainer-level maintenance tasks; administering written and practical assessments; and giving constructive feedback to students to improve skills and understanding.
Required Qualifications
- An understanding of Heavy Equipment and Material Handling Equipment (HE/MHE) components, systems, and operational controls
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting common electrical and hydraulic problems
- Ability to obtain appropriate US Military Instructor certifications
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of practical experience instructing the operation and maintenance of Heavy Equipment (HE) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
- Experience instructing Military personnel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Technical competence
- Must be customer service oriented, flexible, and have a high energy level
- Must have excellent follow-through skills
- Must have a professional and comfortable demeanor in most social settings
- International and domestic travel, must be able to obtain/maintain valid passport
