Job Summary
Lead government-contracting clients' accounting operations under FAR and DCAA, overseeing staff responsible for transaction entry, financial cleanup, and invoicing for contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF). Review financial statements and indirect cost rate calculations; guide on cost allowability and allocability; provide strategic advisory to optimize performance and compliance. Stay updated on regulations, mentor junior accountants, ensure high-quality deliverables, and develop forward pricing budgets to support contract compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of experience in government contracting
- Demonstrated experience in public accounting, consulting, or outsourced accounting environments
- In-depth knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
- Expertise in preparing the Incurred Cost Submission
- Experience with government contract accounting software (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Unanet)
- Experience in leading a team and owning client relationships
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
