Job Summary
Develop and maintain positive relationships with municipal leaders, county officials, and regulatory agencies to facilitate permitting, right-of-way access, and broadband expansion initiatives. Serve as the primary point of contact for government-related matters, attending meetings, coordinating communications on construction schedules, and negotiating agreements. Monitor regulatory developments, assist with permit escalations, and support grant-funded projects while resolving external challenges that impact project schedules. Partner with Engineering, Construction, Legal, and Operations teams to address stakeholder concerns and represent the company at community events and public forums.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Communications, Business Administration, Urban Planning, or related field
- 3–7 years of experience in government affairs, community relations, public policy, telecommunications, utilities, construction, or infrastructure-related fields
- Experience interacting with government officials and public agencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent public speaking and presentation abilities
- Strong organizational and relationship management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently throughout service territories
Desired Qualifications
- Broadband, telecommunications, utility, or infrastructure experience
- Knowledge of permitting, right-of-way processes, and municipal government operations
- Familiarity with state and federal broadband grant programs
- Experience working in public affairs, economic development, or community engagement roles
