Job Summary
Work with Federal Affairs leadership and external stakeholders to advance organizational priorities on federal matters impacting the business. Independently track, analyze, summarize, and communicate relevant federal legislation and regulations, clearly articulating guidance for business and senior leaders. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify operational and policy impacts of proposed regulations, develop thought leadership initiatives, and establish company initiatives related to federal legislative and regulatory issues. Provide technical support as a subject matter expert for implementation activities regarding newly enacted federal legislation. This role supports the Enterprise in navigating emerging health policy issues and requires independent judgment to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of five years' work experience in a position requiring independent judgment and initiative
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to facilitate policy discussions with stakeholders of varied levels and build consensus
- Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of professionalism in all situations
- Must be proactive
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be highly organized
- Must be able to manage multiple activities simultaneously
- Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively as a team member
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word
- Must adhere to company and departmental policies and procedures, and Regulatory and Compliance standards
- Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required
- Must be able to work under deadline pressure
Desired Qualifications
- J.D.
- Health care and/or public policy degree
- Previous experience in a managed care setting and/or regulatory environment
- Experience with Medicare and/or Medicaid
