Job Summary
The Golf Course Superintendent will oversee maintenance, operation, and management of the golf course, act as liaison among the company, customer representative, and golf shop, and ensure daily course operations align with contract specifications. Responsibilities include planning and directing maintenance activities, partnering with the customer on long-term property improvement plans, supervising equipment maintenance and repair, managing annual budgets and agronomic plans, procuring supplies, generating maintenance reports, managing golf course staff (hiring, training, discipline, separations), ensuring regulatory and safety program compliance, and maintaining positive relationships with employees and the public. The role requires extensive knowledge of agronomy, turf culture, irrigation, fertilizers, and pesticide usage, plus strong communication, leadership, and administrative skills. This is an on-site, full-time role based in Wildwood, Florida, with benefits described in the company materials.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in all phases of golf course management and turf culture
- Working knowledge of construction, establishment, and maintenance practices on golf course greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers
- Degree or advanced knowledge of agronomy, horticulture, plant, or soil science
- Certified and/or licensed for pesticide usage
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, pumps, wells, and drainage
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to prepare the course for play in accordance with golf rules
- Strong administrative and executive abilities including written and oral communication
- Computer proficiency
