Golf Course Starter/Ranger

Job Summary
Welcome members and guests with Southern hospitality, verify tee times, and facilitate the orderly start of play for all groups while communicating daily course conditions and local rules. Patrol the course to monitor pace of play, address bottlenecks, and assist with guest questions regarding etiquette, course rules, and resort policies. Maintain accurate logs of daily activities and incidents, report safety hazards or maintenance concerns, and respond to minor first-aid situations or emergency communications. Operate a golf cart safely, deliver urgent messages, and assist with locating lost-and-found items. Weekend, holiday, and flexible scheduling availability is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Weekend, holiday, and flexible scheduling availability
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and via radio
- Ability to operate a golf cart safely and navigate the golf course terrain
- Possess visual acuity sufficient to monitor play, inspect course conditions, and identify safety concerns
- Frequently stand and walk for extended periods
- Regularly use hands and arms to handle equipment and perform job-related tasks
- Occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, reach, balance, or climb
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly
- Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1-year of customer service, hospitality, golf operations, or related experience
- Thorough knowledge of the game of golf, golf etiquette, and pace-of-play expectations
- Excellent interpersonal and guest-service skills
- Ability to remain professional and composed when handling guest concerns or conflicts
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to obtain certification upon hire
