Job Summary
Manage pro shop, starter/ranger, and golf cart attendant duties as required. Answer phones, process reservations and payments for fees, merchandise, and snacks, and oversee individual parties while monitoring pace of play. Patrol the course, enforce rules, maintain appearance, prepare and clean power carts, and operate two-way radios. Requires valid Michigan driver's license, ability to lift 40 lbs, and strong communication skills. Seasonal role from April through November, 20 to 40 hours weekly with frequent evenings, weekends, and holidays. Discounts available on golf, equipment, and apparel.
Required Qualifications
- Valid State of Michigan Driver's License
- Satisfactory completion of background check (sex offender registry if applicable)
- Pre-employment physical
- Drug screen that tests for illegal drugs as defined by the Federal Drug Free Workplace Act but not those legalized under Michigan law
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. several times per shift
- Some knowledge of the game of golf, including proper golfing etiquette
- Ability to operate cash register/computer system
- Ability to keep records and prepares reports in a timely manner
- Ability to follow oral instructions
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to utilize tact and diplomacy in dealing with fellow employees, the public and enforcing course rules
- Ability to maintain contact with golfers
- Ability to operate and communicate via two-way radio
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance
- Employee need to be available to work various shifts in order to have enough daily coverage
- Extended time off during this period is extremely limited
- Working 20 to 40 hours per week during the golf season (April through November)
- Schedule will include frequent evenings, weekends and holidays
- Employee is required to wear uniform (shirt & name badge)
