Job Summary
Golf Course Equipment Manager oversees shop operations and staff, diagnoses and repairs golf course and grounds equipment, and manages budgeting, inventory, and vendor relations. Responsibilities include supervising mechanics, scheduling, training, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, maintaining records and budgets, coordinating parts procurement, and communicating with department contacts to ensure efficient maintenance and customer satisfaction. The role requires leadership, strong mechanical/auto repair expertise (including electrical systems and welding), preventive maintenance, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in staff performance while adhering to environmental practices.
Required Qualifications
- State certification required
- ASE may be required
- minimum 2 years experience in repair of golf course/grounds equipment and/or vehicle repair
- minimum 2 years in a management/supervisory role
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate’s Degree preferred
- Michigan Driver’s License
