Job Summary
Plan, review, and monitor the ventilation network using Deswik and Ventsim while conducting underground inspections and surveys. Review existing infrastructure for age and maintenance needs through mapping and testing, then develop standards and audit schedules to support collaboration with Fixed Maintenance. Coordinate proposed infrastructure requirements to determine mass balances and impacts based on medium and long-term plans. Ensure plans, budgets, and schedules are developed sufficiently to meet deadlines and adhere to constraints. Communicate with stakeholders to ensure satisfactory delivery of objectives.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor-degree in mining, civil, or mechanical engineering, or related field
- A basic knowledge of underground mine infrastructure systems including air, water and discharge in addition to underground electrical and communications infrastructure
- An understanding of mine infrastructure requirements (air, water, power, discharge, ventilation, refuge, etc.)
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles and a demonstrated understanding of mining regulations
- Strong presentation and verbal skills. Able to communicate ideas and recommendations in both written and verbal forms across all levels of the organization in a clear manner
- Excellent time and productivity management skills
- Proven ability to perform in a safe and efficient manner
Desired Qualifications
- 2 – 3 years of industry experience
- Experience working with ventilation and/or paste backfill
- Exposure to Deswik and Ventsim applications
