Job Summary
Lead optimization of crushing, dry milling, roasting, off gas handling, and CIL circuits to improve gold recovery, throughput, and reagent consumption; monitor metallurgical performance KPIs and implement corrective actions; troubleshoot process upsets with operations, maintenance, and engineering to identify root causes and drive solutions; analyze data from roaster and downstream circuits to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement; provide technical leadership and mentoring to operations staff, and deliver training on safe and effective metallurgical practices; manage metallurgical projects from conception through completion, coordinating with cross-functional teams; analyze metallurgical data, prepare detailed reports, and develop KPIs for process performance; ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in metallurgical operations (with strong preference for roasting, calcine leaching, or refractory gold processing)
- Solid understanding of roasting chemistry, calcine handling, leaching, and CIL processes
- Proficiency in data analysis, process control systems, and metallurgical accounting
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
