Job Summary
Provide targeted, small-group instruction in Math at Digital Pioneers Academy Middle School or ELA at Cardozo Education Campus High School to increase student achievement. Build authentic relationships with 3-4 students per session to support their social and emotional development while fostering confidence. Prepare lesson materials in advance and mentor students toward future goals within a supportive, culturally responsive environment. Complete mandatory in-person training on October 1st and 2nd, followed by a first day in the school building on October 5th, 2026. Work consistent Monday through Thursday or Friday schedules from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with final hours determined during training.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma/GED or current enrollment in an accredited college or university program
- Citizenship or legal Permanent Residency status in the United States
- Served no more than three previous AmeriCorps service terms
- At least 18 years of age
- Passion for service and a growth mindset
- Commitment to equity and diversity
- Belief that all students can succeed
- Confidence in your ability to lead students to significant academic growth in Math and/or ELA
- Experience working in team settings- relationship building and communication skills
- Maturity to work closely with professional peers
- Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines
- Ability to respond well to and implement feedback- commitment to lifelong learning
- Collaborative problem-solving abilities
- Able to travel to a GO partner school up to 5 days/week
