Job Summary
Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer to develop and test algorithms to control the trajectory and attitude of launch vehicles and spacecraft; implement GNC algorithms in flight software deployments; create high fidelity models of vehicles to simulate dynamic behavior; characterize performance; support integration, checkout, and testing of sensor and actuator hardware; monitor and report status of GNC software and vehicle dynamics; continually improve payload delivery services. Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics; proficiency in dynamics, orbital mechanics, control systems, and estimation; software development experience in C++; experience with version control; strong communication and presentation skills; ability to own tasks from start to finish. Preferred: Master’s degree or relevant work experience; familiarity with Git, Linux, and software development processes; proficiency in C++ or Python. ITAR compliance and eligibility requirements apply.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics
- Proficiency in dynamics, orbital mechanics, control systems, and estimation
- Experience with software development in C++
- Experience with version control software and practices
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to take complete ownership of individual tasks and see them to completion
- Demonstrated ability to work in small, collaborative groups through design, integration, testing, and operations
- Familiarity with Linux
- Familiarity with Git and Git workflows
- Prototyping and modeling of dynamic systems
- Understanding of flight software deployments
- Ability to create high fidelity vehicle models
- Knowledge of sensor and actuator hardware integration
- Understanding of ITAR export regulations compliance requirement
