GNC Engineer (f/m/d)

Job Summary
GNC Engineer to own and execute the end-to-end guidance, navigation, and control lifecycle for advanced fixed-wing and VTOL UAV platforms, from concept through operational flight. You will take GNC algorithms from simulation to real aircraft, lead hands-on flight testing and post-flight analysis, and contribute to flight-mode design and failure handling. Collaborate with airframe, avionics, and software teams to ensure system-level coherence, write production code in C++ and Python, build/maintain simulation frameworks (ROS2, PX4) and validate GNC performance through real-world flight testing, with strong emphasis on robust sim-to-real transfer and documentation of assumptions and validation results.
Required Qualifications
- Several years of hands-on experience developing GNC systems for fixed-wing and/or VTOL UAVs
- Proven exposure to real-world UAV deployments and operations; hands-on flight testing experience required
- Experience implementing GNC software in C++ and Python
- Practical experience using ROS2 and PX4
- Experience designing and operating state machines for autonomous flight and mission logic
- Experience building and maintaining simulation frameworks including multi-airframe
- Strong foundation in flight dynamics, guidance, navigation, and control
- Ability to collaborate with airframe, avionics, and software teams for system-level coherence
- Documented validation results and architectural assumptions
