Job Summary
SpaceX SpaceShield GNC Engineer role focusing on designing and implementing satellite GNC software and onboard algorithms for autonomous, fault-tolerant attitude and orbit control across missions. Responsibilities include developing GNC software across flight phases, creating CONOPs balancing thermal/power/momentum constraints, implementing onboard control algorithms, maintaining software configurations, high-fidelity 6DOF simulations, Monte Carlo analyses, HITL testing, navigation filtering, and spacecraft hardware sizing. Required: Bachelor's in an engineering discipline and software development in C++, Python, and/or MATLAB/Simulink. Preferred: Master's or PhD, strong fundamentals in attitude/orbit dynamics, GNSS/star-tracker navigation, unit testing, CI/CD, and experience with Git/Linux/Confluence/Jira; active Top Secret/DOE clearance or ability to obtain. ITAR-compliant environment; on-site duties in Hawthorne, CA with substantial responsibilities and potential for salary differentiation based on level. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, computer science/software engineering, or an engineering discipline
