Job Summary
Lead energy development activities for assigned vehicle programs, ensuring robust technical definition, integration, and delivery of energy-related targets across the program lifecycle. Develop system-level understanding of vehicle energy performance drivers and translate them into executable engineering workstreams across propulsion, calibration, software, testing, validation, and vehicle integration. Own cross-functional alignment of technical assumptions, target definitions, risks, and recovery actions; communicate status and recommendations to leadership with clarity and credibility. Provide coaching and mentorship to less-experienced engineers, improve processes and tools, and influence decisions through data, structured problem solving, and collaboration. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree with mandatory CREA registration and a strong systems engineering mindset to deliver energy performance solutions in a hybrid work model based in Indaiatuba, Brazil, with occasional travel.”,
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field
- Active CREA registration (mandatory)
- Solid experience in vehicle energy development, vehicle performance, propulsion systems, or closely related automotive engineering areas
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance and make sound technical judgments on significant engineering matters
- Strong systems engineering and integration capability, including the ability to connect subsystem behavior to vehicle-level outcomes
- Experience working across multiple engineering functions to solve complex technical problems and deliver time-sensitive program results
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to structure ambiguous issues and drive practical solutions
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical recommendations to cross-functional and leadership audiences
- Proven ability to influence without direct authority and build alignment across stakeholders with different perspectives
- Working knowledge of vehicle development processes, test and validation activities, and engineering deliverable management
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, integrity, accountability, and GM behaviors in daily work
