GME 5th Grade Teacher

Job Summary
Teaches multiple subjects to elementary students (reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health, physical education, and music) in a classroom setting. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials, provides individualized and small group instruction, adapts curriculum to pupil needs, establishes classroom standards, evaluates academic and social growth, maintains records, communicates with parents, identifies pupil needs and collaborates with staff to support health and learning problems, creates engaging learning environments with displays and centers, and administers group standardized tests. Participates in curriculum development, faculty committees, and supports transitions for students through IEP modifications and educational planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Elementary teaching certificate
- Must meet state requirements to be considered a “Highly Qualified” teacher
