Job Summary
Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes; oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul; configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment; troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate faults and repair components; performs validation/verification testing of systems and components; documents procedures to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance; inspects components for flight worthiness and oversees training. Requires the ability to travel up to 20% domestically for offsite support/training, and work 100% onsite at Fort Greely, AK. Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, lift approximately 35 pounds, and work in confined spaces. Prior experience with the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) system or ordnance is a plus; valid security clearance (U.S. Secret) is required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience assembling, repairing, and testing mechanical and electrical components and systems
- Willing and able to travel up to 20% domestically for offsite support and training
- Able to ascend and descend vertical ladders
- Willing and able to work in confined spaces
- Lift loads approximately 35 pounds
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (or equivalent)
- Ability to operate forklift/truck-mounted crane (plus a CDL is a plus)
- Familiarity with tool control, hazmat control, confined space entry, fall protection programs, and ESD controls
- Must be able to work onsite 100%
- Background in aerospace or ordnance is desirable
