Job Summary
Senior General Manager - Director of Architecture leading architectural teams and projects across Canada in a hybrid Toronto-area setting. Mentored by the Principal with potential ownership and partnership trajectory. Responsibilities include overseeing teams of architects, technologists, and account managers; driving KPIs and value engineering; scheduling, billable hours, budgets, and contracts; managing risk and maintaining strong client partnerships; delivering non-residential projects on time and on budget while upholding quality standards. Requires travel ~90 minutes outside Toronto twice weekly. Professional registration is desirable; PMP or MBA designation a plus. 15+ years of architectural experience with 10+ years in leadership; strong track record with Canadian building codes/by-laws. Hybrid work environment described as 3 days WFH, 2 days in the office.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of leadership experience in a well-established architectural firm
- 15+ years of architectural experience including leadership in fast-paced environments
- experience overseeing teams and projects with KPIs, value engineering, budgeting, scheduling, and client management
- ability to lead teams of architects, technologists, and account managers; track record of delivering non-residential projects on time and on budget
- experience with project management, strategic planning, and client leadership; familiarity with Canadian building codes and by-laws (10+ years)
