Job Summary
Research, write, and edit original content across articles, features, newsletters, webinars, video scripts, and social media for technical and industrial audiences. Source and interview subject matter experts, engineers, and industry leaders to inform coverage, while managing freelance contributors by assigning stories and maintaining quality standards. Monitor audience engagement metrics and market signals to identify coverage opportunities, and apply AI-driven tools to improve editorial efficiency. Collaborate with content, marketing, and sales teams to align editorial output with organizational goals. Appear on camera, in podcasts, or as a brand representative at industry events, with expected travel of 2–3 times per year to develop sources and gather content.
Required Qualifications
- Journalist's instinct for the story hiding inside a spec sheet
- Strong writing
- Sharp editing
- Sound information literacy
- Genuine curiosity
- Understanding of manufacturing as a beat
- Rigor of a journalist
- Fluency of someone who has spent time close to the technology
- Ability to interview an engineer on the plant floor
- Ability to step in front of a camera or microphone to represent the brand
- Ability to appear on camera, in podcasts or as a brand representative at industry events
- Ability to attend tradeshows and notable manufacturing events
- Travel expected 2–3 times per year
