Global Supply Manager (Industrial Gases Sourcing & Logistics)

Job Summary

Create sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet targets for purchasing, including payment terms, cash targets, and cost savings. Develop and maintain key internal stakeholder relationships to optimize value while driving compliance to category strategies and managing contracts to ensure supplier performance. Identify and execute cost reduction projects through advanced quantitative analysis, benchmarking, and market research to maximize savings and eliminate waste. Collaborate with stakeholders to define Service Level Agreements and KPIs for suppliers, measure delivery results and quality, and establish preferred suppliers for assigned categories. Place purchase orders, resolve blocked invoices, and lead efforts to reduce transaction volume. Present confidently to decision makers on launch critical response events. Manage end-to-end logistics for bulk liquid and cylinder gases, including cryogenic tanker fleets and last-mile distribution, while ensuring continuity of supply for critical operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree and 4+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or 10+ years of experience working in one or more of the following
  • Engineering
  • Purchasing
  • Contract negotiation
  • Material or production planning
  • Operations or supply chain management
  • Material cost control
  • Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral
  • Must be able to travel - up to 25% of work week travel may be required, including international travel
  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to meet major milestones
  • This position is based in Cape Canaveral, FL, and requires being onsite - remote work not considered
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State

Desired Qualifications

  • Strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement experience specifically in industrial gases (oxygen, nitrogen, argon, helium, hydrogen, CO2, etc.) or related bulk chemical/gas commodities
  • Proven track record negotiating long-term supply agreements, volume commitments, and pricing with major industrial gas producers
  • Hands-on experience managing end-to-end logistics for bulk liquid and cylinder gases, including cryogenic tanker fleets, pipeline supply, on-site generation (ASUs/PSAs), cylinder fleets, and last-mile distribution
  • Strong background in total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, supply risk mitigation, dual-sourcing strategies, and ensuring continuity of supply for critical manufacturing or production operations
  • Demonstrated success implementing supplier performance scorecards, quality/purity compliance programs, and logistics optimization (route planning, inventory management, safety stock for cryogenic products) while driving cost savings and service level improvements
  • Experience with technical procurement, manufacturing, or designing production components
  • APICS certification
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Ability to prove a strong track record of leadership and team building
  • Remarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speed and positive impact
  • Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
