Global Supply Manager, Capital Equipment & Construction (Starlink)

Job Summary

Develop and implement comprehensive contract management processes to ensure successful project execution cycles for construction and capital equipment. Create sourcing strategies that reduce risk and meet purchasing targets while optimizing value through strategic negotiations and cost reduction projects. Manage supplier performance by defining SLAs, KPIs, and preferred supplier lists, then place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices. Conduct market research, benchmarking, and quantitative analyses to identify financial impacts and drive year-over-year cost optimization. Collaborate with legal to create contract documents and apply creative solutions to interrelated terms. This role supports SpaceX's Starlink constellation and human spaceflight initiatives within the Bastrop, TX facility.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years of experience working in Engineering
  • 6+ years of experience working in Purchasing
  • 6+ years of experience working in Contract negotiation
  • 6+ years of experience working in Material or production planning
  • 6+ years of experience working in Operations or supply chain management
  • 6+ years of experience working in Master production scheduling
  • 6+ years of experience working in Construction, facilities, or industrial plant management
  • 10+ years of experience working in Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience working in Purchasing
  • 10+ years of experience working in Contract negotiation
  • 10+ years of experience working in Material or production planning
  • 10+ years of experience working in Operations or supply chain management
  • 10+ years of experience working in Master production scheduling
  • 10+ years of experience working in Construction, facilities, or industrial plant management
  • Ability to work extended hours and some nights and weekends when needed
  • Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours - up to 30% travel may be required, including international travel
  • Valid driver's license
  • U.S. citizen or national
  • U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder)
  • Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157
  • Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158
  • Eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
  • This position is based in Bastrop, TX and requires being onsite

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong technical background to speak the language of engineers and strong business background to deal with contracts and negotiations
  • Construction project management experience and/or construction cost estimate experience
  • Familiarity or experience in purchasing or similar procurement related experience
  • Experience in industrial engineering, construction management, and/or facilities management
  • Strong budget tracking and cost analytical skills
  • Extensive project management and organizational skills
  • Experience managing large scale industrial and commercial construction projects
  • Strong contract negotiation and document management skills
  • Remarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speed
  • Quick learner and ability to prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills in current technologies and applications (e.g. MS Office Suite, SQL, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Ability to conduct all activities with the highest degree of integrity
