Job Summary
Govern and assurance of international travel within Itad's risk appetite, leading arrangements for high and extreme deployments through risk assessment, mitigation planning, and traveller support. Develop and continuously improve the Safety & Security framework, translating organisational risk appetite into practical policies, guidance, and escalation routes. Facilitate safety governance, chair the Travel, Safety and Security Committee, and oversee the Duty Officer rota to ensure crisis preparedness and operational resilience. Lead the GSS team, manage workload, and collaborate with Safeguarding and Supplier Management functions to coordinate duty of care across the organisation.
Required Qualifications
- significant experience in safety, security and risk management within an international organisation
- significant experience leading safety, security and travel risk management within a global organisation
- ideally including operations in fragile, conflict affected or higher risk environments
- experience developing and implementing organisational frameworks, policies, governance arrangements and risk management processes relating to safety, security and duty of care
- strong risk management, decision making and problem-solving skills
- ability to assess complex situations and recommend proportionate mitigations
- experience operating in a matrix environment
- influencing stakeholders and building trusted relationships where there is limited or no direct authority
- strong leadership and people management skills
- workforce planning, capability development, succession planning and team leadership
- experience working across organisational functions and governance structures
- including senior committees, project delivery teams, safeguarding, supplier management and operational support functions
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- commercial awareness
- a practical, solutions focused approach to balancing risk, operational delivery and organisational objectives
- the right to live and work in the UK independently
