Job Summary
Join the Western European Economics team as a Research Assistant to support senior economists in analysing Euro area, UK, and Scandinavian economies. You will manage and improve data processes, maintain chartbooks and templates for weekly, monthly, and ad hoc publications, and assist with data requests. The role involves working with data sets and databases, ensuring accuracy and efficiency, and contributing to publications. Candidates should have strong economics knowledge, meticulous data handling skills, advanced Excel, and experience or knowledge of economic forecasting or modelling, with familiarity in Python or statistical packages (e.g., EViews) and data platforms such as Bloomberg or Haver DLX. Master’s degree preferred. The role emphasizes collaboration and written communication of complex economic relationships.
Required Qualifications
- Good knowledge of economics, with experience in analysing macroeconomic data
- Ability to work meticulously and independently with large spreadsheets and databases
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience or knowledge of economic forecasting and modelling
- Good understanding of political, economic, and business developments
- Intellectual curiosity and interest in macroeconomics and markets
- Ability to write concisely and explain complex economic relationships
