Job Summary
Vice President, Scandinavia Economist responsible for sole coverage of Swedish and Norwegian economies, producing detailed macroeconomic forecasts, monitoring monetary and fiscal policy developments, writing timely client notes, engaging with clients, and traveling regularly to market the economics view across the Nordic region; requires strong macroeconomic analysis, data handling, client communication, and collaboration with FX and rates teams; candidates should have proficiency in Scandinavian languages, experience with statistical software (e.g., Python, Stata, Eviews), familiarity with data platforms (Haver, Reuters, Bloomberg), and a Master’s degree or higher in Economics; UK regulatory fitness requirements may apply.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in analysing macroeconomic data and forecasting
- Experience working with large data sets and databases
- Proficiency in Scandinavian languages to read local media reports
- Ability to work meticulously and independently with large spreadsheets and databases
- Good understanding of political, economic, and business developments within the Scandinavian region
- Exceptional communication skills, with experience in client interactions
- Intellectual curiosity and interest in macroeconomics and markets
- Ability to write concisely and explain complex economic relationships
- Collaborative attitude and strong work ethic
- Experience with statistical programming languages or packages (such as Eviews, Stata, Python)
- Familiarity with data platforms such as Haver, Reuters, or Bloomberg
