Global Procurement Category Manager - Digital & IT R&D

Job Summary
Manage global Digital R&D technology spend and oversee end-to-end procurement processes across the R&D lifecycle, including discovery, pre-clinical, clinical, regulatory, safety, quality, and CMC activities. Develop category strategies for software solutions, identify suppliers, and lead RFI/RFP processes using approved tools. Negotiate commercial terms with large technology providers, embed risk and sustainability requirements into contracts, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a minimum of 8 years' experience in strategic procurement within pharmaceutical R&D environments. The position is based in Brussels, Belgium, with a hybrid-first approach of 40% office time.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years' experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, supplier management, or digital technology roles
- preferably with exposure to pharmaceutical R&D environments
- Previous experience working with R&D technology categories
- a strong understanding of pharmaceutical R&D processes across discovery, pre-clinical, clinical, regulatory, safety, quality, and CMC domains
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management experience
- including with large R&D technology providers
- Good understanding of digital R&D technology landscapes
