Global Onsite Lab Project Manager

Job Summary
Review, assess, and create financial models and proposals for new and existing onsite laboratories while consulting with clients and regional staff regarding requirements, costs, and schedules. Work with operating affiliates to implement planning, scheduling, and coordination for executing and controlling new onsite laboratory builds, startups, renovations, and expansions. Use collated regional information to model opportunities, obtain technical and operational sign-off, and prepare technical proposals or tender submissions. Communicate with clients to develop new opportunities, confirm RFP information, and negotiate to win SGS Onsite Laboratory projects. Confirm and monitor laboratory equipment purchasing to ensure global standards and timely arrival. Global team involvement requires extended or irregular hours, and some international travel is needed.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in a Science or Engineering related program with a strong preference in a Geosciences profession (Geology, Mines, Mineralogy, Environmental Mineralogy, Soil Science etc.)
- Select technical experience in a geosciences-related profession with some aspects of business management/personnel management
- Strong working knowledge of the mining and minerals industry
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail
- Works well under pressure
- Ability to work well with others & independently, without supervision
- Ability to manage a team
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, fluid and highly professional environment
- Superior organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition (English)
- Global team involvement will mean that extended and/or irregular hours will be required
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in other languages besides English (French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic etc.)
