Job Summary
Develop and execute global ocean freight sourcing strategies to optimize costs, service levels, and operational efficiency across diverse regions. Lead category management including market analysis, demand forecasting, tender processes, contract negotiation, and performance management while cultivating strong relationships with carriers and service providers. Collaborate with internal stakeholders in Supply Chain, Planning, Operations, and Finance to manage expectations and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Utilize advanced data analysis to monitor trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and mitigate risks related to geopolitical impacts, capacity constraints, and regulatory changes. Ensure all sourcing activities adhere to company policies and international trade regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience in ocean freight sourcing, procurement, or category management within a global supply chain environment
- Proven ability to manage global logistics operations, navigating different time zones and successfully collaborating with stakeholders distributed worldwide
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting
- Demonstrated experience in leading end-to-end strategic sourcing processes, including RFI/RFP, negotiation, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, results-oriented approach
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CSCMP, APICS)
- Familiarity with CSO and e-sourcing platforms
