Global Observability Team Lead

Lead Optiver’s global observability efforts as Head of Observability Platform, owning strategy, architecture, operating model, and roadmap for a shared observability platform across a globally distributed trading environment. Build and lead a globally distributed team of engineers, define what good observability means (telemetry quality, instrumentation, alerting, dashboards, service health), guide end-to-end telemetry ingestion, storage, query, visualization, alerting, and automation, and drive adoption with engineering partners. Improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness; enhance developer and operator experience through self-service workflows, golden paths, documentation, reusable patterns, APIs, dashboards, and investigation tooling. The role involves partnering with engineering teams to drive adoption and delivering a pragmatic, balanced approach to global standardization with regional autonomy. What you’ll bring includes proven experience leading engineering/SRE/platform/observability teams in a complex technical environment, ownership or shaping a platform capability with strategy and measurable outcomes, deep understanding of observability practices across logs, metrics, traces, events, alerting, dashboards, telemetry pipelines, diagnostics, instrumentation quality, and service health, experience designing large-scale observability platforms, strong technical judgment, people leadership, delivery discipline, and the ability to influence without direct control.
