Global Lead Security Control Engineer

Job Summary
Lead a global team providing 24x7 operational support for web application security platforms and services. Oversee incident management, change governance, application onboarding, and continuous service improvement to ensure the security, availability, and resilience of critical business applications. Drive operational excellence through team leadership, process optimization, and strategic planning while acting as a liaison between Security Engineering, Application Development, Operations, and external vendors. Establish operational standards, documentation, and runbooks to ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements. Monitor platform performance and risks to define KPIs and long-term security operations strategy. Partner with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to deliver secure solutions and communicate operational risks to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in Technology Operations, Cybersecurity Operations, or Infrastructure Operations
- 3+ years of people leadership and team management experience
- Experience managing incident response, operational escalations, and production support teams
- Strong understanding of change management, service management, and operational governance practices
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Bot Management, DDoS mitigation, API Security, or Edge Security technologies
- Experience working with Akamai, Cloud Security, or enterprise security platforms
- Knowledge of ITIL, Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management frameworks
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, JIRA, Splunk, and enterprise monitoring tools
- Relevant industry certifications (ITIL, CISSP, CISM, Security+, PMP, Agile, or equivalent)
