Job Summary

Plan and execute ground and flight operations for NASA RQ-4 Global Hawks, serving as Pilot in Command and potentially as an Instructor. Develop new procedures for aircraft modifications and conduct ground and flight tests of modified aircraft. Ensure compliance with NASA, company, and FAA regulations while working on Certificates of Authorization to allow flight in the National Airspace. Manage all aspects of flight operations including crew resource management, mission planning, briefings, debriefings, and safety execution. Deploy operations both domestically and overseas are routine, requiring some travel. Regular hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7 years of aviation experience
  • experience as a flight operations crew member
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate
  • Airplane Single Engine Land privileges
  • Instrument Rating
  • 500 hours of flight experience as Pilot in Command
  • Current Class II or higher FAA medical certificate
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • ability to obtain and maintain the level of clearance required for this position
