Job Summary
Global Engineering & Automation Leader oversees the centralized Deliver engineering function for J&J MedTech, driving DC automation, equipment strategy, and OT integration across a global distribution network. Leads end-to-end DC projects (greenfield/brownfield), ensures alignment with enterprise architecture and compliance, and provides governance and technical leadership across global initiatives. Key areas include DC automation, WCS/automation deployment, system validation (CSV/SDLC), cybersecurity/compliance (SOX), vendor management, cross-functional leadership, and talent development; travel required (~10–25%).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related technical field) required
- 10+ years of experience in engineering, automation, or distribution systems
- Proven track record in warehouse automation and material handling systems
- Large-scale capital project execution (DC builds, upgrades)
- Equipment specification, validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and lifecycle management
- Experience in regulated environments (GMP, medical device, pharma) preferred
- Strong vendor management and capital project leadership capabilities
- Ability to lead cross-functional, global teams in a matrix environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
- Preferred: Six Sigma certification
- Experience with high-throughput automated distribution or manufacturing environments
- Location & Travel: NA or EMEA; Travel ~10–25%
