Global Director of Animal Sentience & Welfare Education

Job Summary

Develop and implement a comprehensive education strategy aligned with organizational mission, designing curricula and digital learning resources on animal sentience, emotions, cognition, and veterinary welfare. Manage, train, and supervise education staff, interns, and volunteers while establishing partnerships with universities, schools, and government agencies. Coordinate outreach events, community workshops, and public awareness campaigns, overseeing program budgets, grants, and resource allocation. Create age-appropriate programs for diverse audiences, develop evaluation metrics to measure program impact, and ensure all content is evidence-based and compliant with legal requirements. Contribute programmatic narratives and data to support fundraising and grant-writing efforts. Maintain current knowledge of animal behavior and welfare best practices to refine programming.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Animal Science, Biology, Nonprofit Management, or related field
  • Master's degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in education, program development, or outreach
  • Experience managing teams, budgets, and collaborative partnerships
  • Experience designing curricula and evaluation frameworks for diverse audiences
  • Strong knowledge of animal behavior, welfare issues, and community-based education best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, public speaking, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, learning management systems, virtual presentation platforms, and data collection/reporting tools
  • Flexible schedule including occasional evenings/weekends
