Job Summary
Desk Analyst in the EMEA Leveraged Finance Trading business will work with traders to generate revenues on secondary trades, manage desk inventory, and identify profitable trading opportunities. Responsibilities include reviewing a wide variety of credits to produce analysis and commentary, helping set prices for trading levels, partnering with the sales team to source and pitch opportunities, preparing ad hoc support materials and presentations, and networking with market counterparts. Required skills include credit research/investment banking or debt restructuring experience, financial modeling, valuation and credit analysis training, strong client-facing and presentation abilities, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. The role involves compliance with UK regulatory fitness and propriety assessments as applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in credit research, investment banking, or debt/restructuring advisory
- Valuation and credit analysis training
- Financial modeling skills
- Strong work ethic and self-starter, able to work independently and collaboratively with sales and trading colleagues
- Comfortable with client interaction and strong presentation skills
- Experience in reviewing debt documentation and understanding legal frameworks
