Job Summary
Global Commodity Manager – Custom Parts & Strategic Sourcing lead global supplier strategy for custom fabricated parts across Build-to-Print manufacturing. Drive cost reduction, supplier consolidation, dual sourcing, risk mitigation, and continuity of supply while partnering with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Program Management, and Supply Chain from prototype through mass production. Own RFQ/RFP activities, should-costing, TCO analysis, and commercial negotiations; oversee supplier performance, onboarding of suppliers, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize cost, lead-times, quality, and service. Maintain supplier relationships, monitor KPIs, and support technology and manufacturability improvements through DFM input and NPI support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related technical field
- 7+ years of experience in commodity management, strategic sourcing, supply chain, procurement, or supplier development
- Strong experience with custom fabricated parts or EMS related manufacturing commodities
- Experience leading RFQ/RFP processes, supplier negotiations, and commercial agreements
- Strong analytical and cost modeling skills with the ability to perform TCO and market analysis
- Knowledge of fabrication technologies, manufacturing processes, materials, lead-times, and supplier capabilities
- Strong communication, negotiation, and supplier management skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with ERP systems, Excel, and supply chain analytics tools
- Strong experience in Engineering, Purchasing, Contract negotiation, Material or production planning, Operations or supply chain management, Material cost control, Master production scheduling
- Technical procurement or planning experience with custom or electrical components
