Global Category Manager IT

Job Summary
Global IT procurement leader responsible for end-to-end category management of IT hardware, software and services across the organization. Develop and implement category strategies, manage key suppliers and commercial agreements, lead complex contract negotiations (software licensing, hardware procurement, services), drive cost optimization and value creation, and collaborate with IT, R&D, Product Management, Finance, and Legal to align requirements with business needs. Ensure governance, risk management, sustainability considerations, and policy adherence while supporting global procurement initiatives in a hybrid-work environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in Strategic Procurement and Category Management, preferably in IT and Technology sectors (IT Hardware, IT Services, and / or Software).
- Strong knowledge of sourcing processes and supplier management in the IT domain
- Proven ability to manage complex supplier contracts and negotiations at a regional as well as global level.
- Experience in driving cost optimization, efficiency improvements, and supporting category strategy implementation.
- Degree in Business Administration, IT, Procurement, or similar.
- Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
- Strong competence and experience in Excel and PowerPoint to analyze spend, structure projects, and communicate progress to management.
- Procurement and sourcing platforms (e.g., eProcurement / Source-to-Pay solutions).
- Finance / ERP systems supporting purchasing, invoicing, and financial processes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational units and functions, building alignment with stakeholders such as IT, Finance, Legal, and Operations.
- Capable of communicating complex procurement topics clearly and persuasively.
- Team player with assertiveness, ownership mentality, and a solution-oriented approach.
- Strong communication skills, able to build relationships, and influence decisions constructively.
- Structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in an international environment.
- Fluency in English is mandatory
- Any other language skills are a plus but not required.
