Job Summary
Manage the cabinets category for ABB's Traction division by defining sourcing strategies, securing supplier bases, and negotiating pricing and contractual conditions. Collaborate with Engineering, Supplier Quality Management, and Operative Procurement to identify, investigate, and select appropriate suppliers while driving cost reduction initiatives. Negotiate project pricing and sourcing frame agreements with main suppliers, periodically renew price lists, and evaluate design and cost drivers to materialize savings. Manage relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the supply base meets current and future business requirements.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- minimum 10 years of experience in strategic Category/Sourcing Management with demonstrable affinity for mechanical components
- minimum 10 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering with demonstrable affinity for commercial topics
- Experience in sourcing and supplier management within the mechanical components category
- Proven experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and driving cost optimization initiatives
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies and supply chain management processes
- Fluent English, both written and spoken
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of cabinets and railway industry products will be an asset
- German language skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
