Global Category Associate Director- Data Analytics and AI Platforms

Job Summary
Lead global category strategy for Data Analytics and AI Platforms, developing multi-year sourcing roadmaps and activating Procurement resources to reduce costs and enable top-line performance. Analyze internal demand, external market data, and spend specifications to produce category plans aligned with business objectives. Partner with Digital, Data Science, and IT leaders to standardize platforms such as data lakes, analytics, and AI/ML environments. Evaluate emerging suppliers in data, AI, and predictive analytics while designing contracts that balance innovation access with compliance and cost efficiency. Guide cross-functional teams and regional stakeholders to ensure procurement activities meet regulatory, contractual, and operational risk requirements. Provide strategic oversight as the global lead for Software category, ensuring alignment between sourcing initiatives and Amgen's evolving business needs across R&D, Commercial, Operations, and G&A functions.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate degree
- 14 years of Global Strategic Sourcing, Procurement or Commercial experience
- Master's degree
- 15 to 17 years & above experience of Global Strategic Sourcing, Procurement or Commercial experience
- Bachelor's degree
- 17-18 years of Global Strategic Sourcing, Procurement or Commercial experience
- 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leading teams, projects, or programs
- Familiarity with procurement platforms such as Ariba
- Familiarity with ERP systems
- Familiarity with advanced analytics tools
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience leading large, cross-functional teams
- Experience managing complex global projects in a matrixed environment
- Experience managing analytics and AI/ML software procurement
- Understanding of cloud data ecosystems (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS/Azure/Google AI)
