Job Summary
Mid-level Group Life Counselor II in a residential treatment setting providing direct services to adults and at-risk youth with chemical dependency and mental health concerns. Responsible for group and individual counseling, milieu management, intake, evaluation, and supervision of patients; maintains daily records, completes EIRs and progress reports, coordinates referrals to community resources, and supports treatment planning under supervision. Requires knowledge of WAC, RCW, and WIG regulations, and strong communication, professionalism, and patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Legible handwriting
- Understanding that chemical dependency is a public health problem and a treatable illness
- Annual clinical competency test
- Professional boundaries and ethics
- Ability to work with adolescent and adult populations
- No disqualifying history of alcohol or other drug misuse for two years prior to employment
- No felony conviction within the last seven years and no history of child abuse or violent crimes
- Confidentiality oath
- Ability to drive and comply with driving standards
