Job Summary
Glazing Engineer / Building Envelope Technical Consultant with responsibility for leading engineering and design coordination for curtain wall, storefront, window wall, and specialty glazing systems. Provide technical consulting on building envelope design, constructability, and performance; review shop drawings and submittals; coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, contractors, and fabrication teams; support Design-Assist/Design-Build projects; provide CAD, BIM, and Revit coordination; assist with field conditions and technical challenges; support estimating and preconstruction with technical reviews; participate in QA/QC and continuous improvement; mentor project, drafting, and fabrication teams; lead development of new systems, technical standards, and engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Architectural, or related Engineering discipline
- 7+ years of experience in curtain wall, glazing, facade engineering, or building envelope systems
- Strong understanding of commercial glazing systems, curtain wall assemblies, storefront systems, and facade construction
- Experience reviewing engineering calculations, structural glazing details, and shop drawings
- Knowledge of ASTM testing standards, product approvals, and building code requirements
- Experience supporting fabrication, installation, and field operations
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM coordination tools, and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across technical and non-technical stakeholders
