Job Summary
Interpret blueprints to determine glass specifications, then measure, mark, and cut glass to size in the workshop or on-site. Fit anti-glare film, fabricate moldings, and install glass in shop windows, sliding doors, display cases, and bathroom units. Load fittings onto delivery trucks, drive to job sites, unload materials, and operate hoists or cranes with suction cups to lift heavy units. Remove broken glass before new installation and clean the job area once the client is satisfied. Requires a valid National Glass Association certification, three years of experience, and the ability to lift heavy objects.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- A valid glazier certification from the National Glass Association
- 3+ years working as a glazier or commercial glazier
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- A high level of attention to detail
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Good communication skills
- Professional appearance
- Ability to deal with stressful situations
