Job Summary
Glass Specialist responsible for operating and setting up glass-cutting machinery, reading blueprints and work orders, translating instructions into computer commands for the cutter, performing quality checks, reading rulers and tape measures, and maintaining safety and organization in a fast-paced environment. The role requires strong attention to detail, ability to work with others in a team, willingness to train on a saw, basic arithmetic, data entry, and reading complex measurements. Will cross-train to support leads in other areas as production volumes dictate; overtime and weekend work may be required. Located at Rocky Mount, VA with full-time hours from 6am to 6pm; benefits offered starting day 1 including medical, dental, vision, PTO, 401k, and more.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to read a ruler and tape measure
- Willing to operate a saw or be trained on a saw
- Reading and understanding blueprints and work orders
- Read a schedule and enter data into computer for cutter
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organization and communication skills
- Able to read fractions/decimals
- Willing to cross-train and fill in for leads in other areas as necessary
- Adhere to site-wide safety protocols and PPE requirements
- Knowledge about glass is preferred
