GL Accountant

Job Summary
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness in accordance with German GAAP. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments, while performing monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities including balance sheet reconciliations. Reconcile intercompany transactions, resolve discrepancies, and post monthly payroll journals. Assist in preparing financial statements for audits, prepare VAT filings, and manage Accounts Receivables to ensure timely invoicing. Monitor compliance with internal controls, support process improvements, and collaborate with the Controller, Business Unit Manager, and central finance teams. Available to travel to Amsterdam quarterly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in general ledger accounting or similar role
- Strong knowledge of HGB (German GAAP)
- GAAP/IFRS principles
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Netsuite) and MS Excel
- Experience with intercompany accounting, and reconciliations
- Understanding of VAT rules, reverse charge, and EU cross‐border VAT handling
- Proficient in written and spoken German and English
